My stepniece is staying with my wife and I for a couple of weeks while her parents are away. My stepniece is over 18 and is old enough to take care of herself, but apparently she got caught having a few boys over at the house when her parents were away. My stepsister is her stepmother and is a bit of a control freak. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with a young adult girl having a guy in her room. I'm a lot more lenient than my stepsister, which is probably why my stepniece calls me the "cool stepuncle". She came to me the other day, and said she wanted to thank me for letting her stay with us. Then, she started asking me if there was any way she could earn some extra money so she could go to the mall – her step-mom didn't leave her any spending money as punishment. asked me if she could clean, or do the dishes or something to make some extra cash, but we already have a cleaning lady so there's not much I could offer her.
